About Dr. Miller

Board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist Brett Miller, MD, joined Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center in 2004. At the practice’s office in St. Joseph, Missouri, Dr. Miller offers specialized care for sports-related and acute injuries using evidence-based medicine and modern operative techniques, including shoulder arthroscopy. He is dedicated to using his knowledge and skills in improving his patients’ lives and helping them return to the field or workforce.

Dr. Miller finished his undergraduate education at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, before earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kansas. There, he went on to complete both his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. 

Serving as a team physician for several area colleges and high schools, Dr. Miller has a clear dedication to helping athletes stay in the game. He is also a member of the US Ski Team Physician Pool and is a former Division I and Division II athlete himself. He enjoys exercise and fitness in his free time. 

Outside of clinic and surgery, Dr. Miller remains committed to enhancing human performance. He is also an entrepreneur and developer of web-based rehabilitation software.
